Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor’s team issues FIRST statement after actor stabbed during Burglary attempt; states, “He is undergoing surgery”

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured in a knife attack by an intruder at his house in Mumbai on Thursday (January 16). Now, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team have shared a statement after the knife attack on the Devara actor. In the statement, it was stated that Kareena and the children were fine and also requested the media and paps for privacy from fans.

The statement shared by the team reads, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter We will keep you updated on the situation.”

According to India Today sources, the commotion began at Saif’s house when the family’s nanny heard suspicious noises. Soon, Saif stepped in and confronted the intruders head-on. During the confrontation, the actor was attacked six times, sustaining injuries. The attackers, however, fled the scene soon after the scuffle. Following the incident, Saif was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

The actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which are deep. One of the stabs is close to the spine. He is currently undergoing surgery, which is being led by a team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain, and anaesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi.

As per Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said, “Saif was attacked by an unidentified person in his house. He was brought in at 3:30 am in Lilavati. He has six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him. He is being operated upon by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. We will be tell the extent of the damage only after the surgery is done.”

The police is investigating the matter and will share more updates on the case soon.
